Today is spent making arrangements for my stay in Rome.  Purchased tickets and tours for Borghese Museum on first day and Vatican Museum on second.  The eternal city... forever significant because of its place in western culture.  I've never been there but I do expect it to be a city of mirages, of ghosts, of caramelized color.  

My Italian life.  My goal with this blog is to bring you close to my experience of this glorious country, its culture and art, with stories of my journey accompanied by my thoughts, insight and sense of humor.  I will try to resist overusing the word 'fabulous' and maybe even just limiting that to videos.  I know my students are rather used to hearing me exclaim the fabulousness of this or that and it tends to be my 'go to' word for anything that is GLORIOUSLY beautiful, but there you are.
