A day at school

Here is how I spend my first hour after waking up:

Then I get ready for school and walk the 10 minutes it takes to arrive, all bright-eyed and ready for the day.  We are getting into some gnarly grammar.  I have to admit, it is overwhelming at times.  But this wonderful moment dropped out of the sky... a gift from the gods!  Many opera singers attend Il Sasso to learn Italian, for obvious reasons.  This young woman, only 24, had finished her course today and so gave an impromptu concert for us:

(I'm not sure why it's sideways!)  Just listen :)
After class, a jaunt to a little café for a panino with prosciutto and peppers.
Then a walk around town where I am always coming across new things, new OLD things, that is.  Like this tiny little church attached to a grand palazzo.  That was often done so that the family didn't have to leave the safety and comfort of their home to go to mass.  It's darling.  It is right by the Porto Farina, the gate through which the mills brought their flour in the middle ages.

And then on the way home, I couldn't resist stopping at a pasticceria to select some lovely sweets for la casa mia:
